The Siren's Call

inspired by Greek mythology and the siren colony from Harry Potter, I wanted to focus on the creepy factor behind the folklore. Though they're known for their beauty in mainstream media , sirens aren't meant to be that way , breathtaking for sure , but for the gore behind the tale. 

My version of the siren.
She was attacked by a shark and adapted and grew around the wounds. Her spine exposed , and a huge chunk of her waist missing from the shark bite, her character looks quite battered. As a creature of the sea , who has the battle against the strong waves and the water around ships , she has a strong tail and very well developed back muscles. 

I also wanted to focus on the anatomical accuracy of the vertebrae and I spent ample time trying to get the cervical , thoracic and lumbar vertebrae as close as I could while sticking to my stylized version of it.
